Salvadoran American Advocates Call for Immigration Reform

Washington, Sep 29 -Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) meets with representatives of the Salvadoran-American Leadership Summit, including Los Angeles members, to discuss their shared concerns about the need for comprehensive immigration reform.

The delegation included the executive director of El Rescate, a non-profit organization located in the Pico Union area of the 34th District which serves immigrant families. Founded in 1981, El Rescate (translated “The Rescue” in English) was the first organization founded in the United States to provide free legal and social services to refugees fleeing the war in El Salvador during the 1980s. Today, in addition to providing these and other critical services to immigrant families, the organization promotes the broader goal of economic empowerment through the creation of credit unions to help immigrant families achieve financial stability in this country.

Nearly 100 members of leading organizations of Salvadoran-Americans traveled to our nation’s capital to participate in the National Salvadoran-American Advocacy Day for Comprehensive Immigration Reform 2009.

  1. To participate in the Legislative process of Immigration Laws is the motto of this particular organization.

No more no less, but with dignity to Migrants of Central America and all Hispanics in USA.

Congratulation for your endeavour at Washington D.C.

  2. We will also fight for environmental justice and conservation for the people and by the people of El Salvador. Our taxes cannot support projects that destroy for the sake of "development" under the premise that everyone benefits from projects ill-processed. We will lobby and watch the government of ES that is willing to displace its people for mega projects. These will drive environmental refugees to migrate NORTH.

We learned how to lobby and we will use it to give a voice to the voiceless.

Where and when will the changes promised arrive?????

  3. Great that's the way companeros y companeras!

We need to carry the message to the political class of our new nation. The message should be clear from salvadoran-americans: We can not accept less but comprehensive inmigration reform for more than 14 millions of hard working inmigrants.

I congratulate Salvadorans in the World for taking the lead in this issue on behalf of the voiceless.

THE RIGHT TO EXIST IN A ROLE IN THE UNITED STATES SHOULD BE A CONSTANT STRUGGLE!
THE FLOW OF TAXES FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WOULD AN ADVANTAGE FOR THEMSELVES!
    AN EXAMPLE!
IN ITALY: BERLUSCONI GOVERNMENT PROMISED TO THE MOON TO ITS SUPPORTERS.
NOT keeping your promises, has sold $ 800. THE ITALIAN GREEN CARD!
Here's a million illegal immigrants, WHATEVER YOU THINK WILL ENTER A state coffers, IF PAY $ 800 EACH!
