Funds VS Crisis Top El Salvador President Agenda

Salvadorian president-elect Mauricio Funes assured that his government"s priority will be the search of external funds in order to counteract the economic crisis, the local press highlighted Friday.

For June 1 the taking office ceremony of the new leader is scheduled and he announced his interest in examining the topic with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB), during a visit to Washington in coming May.

Funes has already received the commitment of financial support on the part of the Brazilian government by means of a credit of the National Bank of Social Development, what will allow the development of works of social infrastructure and production.

Soon, after the Holy Week, he said he will have will have an encounter with former presidents of the National Association of the Private Company and important managers to look for a strategic alliance to distribute the costs of the crisis in an equal way.
Answering the press, he reiterated that his government"s fundamental sign will be the unity, the one that should be built from the integration of the cabinet as a clear sign of agreement and understanding.

"The change that El Salvador needs should not be interpreted as a jump to the hole and less as a rupture with the economic system, based on the existence of the private property and in the defense of the free competition," he said.

Of the national managers he said he expected decision and will to work together to reach a fair and solidary society and a dynamic and competitive economy.

"It will be necessary to elaborate a state politics in the fiscal area that to mobilize internal and external resources to dedicate them to the social area, the amplification and the improvement from the economic and social infrastructure to support productive activities, he explained." The best way to increase the tributary revenues is not to increase the taxes, but combating the escape, the evasion of funds, the smuggling and corruption, he sustained and ratified his decision to manage the public expense with zeal.

He finally commented he aspires to foster internal agreements with different sectors for the sake of reactivating the economy, create employments and protect to the poor families.

  1. The creation of new jobs is the key and the credential that our new president will show to our society.

    Hopefully, the members of different chambers of commerce will have to accept their part in the pie.

    Not all pie for them but to showing that every body have a piece in it.

    Does it sound fair for the holders of United States Financial degrees in the land?

    Of course everybody want peace and it will depend on their willingness to accept part of the pie.

    Not all at once.
